Independent Forgings and Alloys is unique in the heavy engineering world, but don’t just take our word for it because we’re trying to impress you – google us! A strong attention to detail and taking pride in your work will be highly valued here at Independent Forgings. As a Finishing Operative you will be responsible for the final inspection of forged parts. You’ll use visual and dimensional inspection, rectifying parts where needed using hand and other tools. Other finishing processes that will form your job role include, shot blasting and applying finishing lubricants (coatings), making sure all actions are recorded into the NAV system. One of our resident experts will be on hand to ensure you’re fully trained in all things Finishing. So, I guess we should let you know what we’re going to be looking for in applications. Ideally, you’ll have a general awareness of manufacturing processes and if you have worked in a forging environment before, that would be a huge bonus! You should also demonstrate, the fact you have the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and that you have worked with hand tools. We’re then looking for an individual that is self-motivated, with good interpersonal skills, flexible and able to work well in a team environment.
