Salary: £13.85 p/hr
HLA Agency is seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and creative Freelance Producer to take over the production of two of their flagship projects.
These Are
  • Girls On Film Podcast – the world’s leading podcast for women in film, hosted by Anna Smith.
  • Mark Kermode Live in 3D (MK3D) – a monthly film show at the BFI Southbank, hosted by Mark Kermode.
The successful candidate will work closely with hosts, guests, and the HLA team to ensure seamless production and delivery, and uphold the high editorial standards both shows are known for.
Role details
  • Part-time, 24 hours p/week
  • Freelance contract, initially for 6 months

Role Responsibilities
Girls on Film Podcast
  • Manage podcast production from planning through to publication
  • Schedule and coordinate guest interviews
  • Support host Anna Smith with production needs
  • Liaise with hosts, publicists, and contributors
  • Oversee recording (remote and in-person), editing and delivery
  • Write show notes, upload episodes, and manage metadata
  • Maintain podcast production calendar and communications
  • When needed, produce and oversee social media output
  • Write the monthly Girls On Film newsletter
  • Manage the delivery of live screenings and events
  • Assist in producing the Girls On Film Awards
  • Assist in creating sponsorship decks and other assets as required by the team
MK3D Live Show
  • Manage logistics, guest bookings, and communications
  • Liaise with BFI events team and technical teams
  • Attend rehearsals and live recordings (in person)
  • Support host Mark Kermode with production needs
  • Facilitate post-event delivery and promotion, including the production of the Kermode on Film podcast
Person specifications
  • Experience in podcast or live event production (essential)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Comfortable working with high-profile guests and industry professionals
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (desirable)
  • An extensive knowledge of screen culture in the UK and internationally
  • London-based or able to travel to London regularly
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel occasionally
  • Good eye for visual design
  • Excellent writing style
  • Demonstrable passion for film…!
