Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Supervisor to join our team in Barnstaple.

The Role

As a Sales Supervisor at our Builders Merchants branch, you will be responsible for leading the sales team on the trade counter and the Internal Sales team to build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive sales strategies and regular contact, ensuring exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in achieving sales targets, supervising daily operations, and supporting the Branch Manager in growing our customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Work effectively as part of a team promoting the South West Build’s vision, values, and aspirations at all times.
  • Support the branch manager in delivering the branch action plan to ensure all sales targets are achieved, including delivered, collected, and direct sales.
  • Drive all company and group sales initiatives to ensure maximum exposure and profit from all opportunities.
  • Focus on developing and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and new customers to seek additional business opportunities and ensure ongoing business continuity.
  • Take overall responsibility for the counter and internal sales teams, providing clear direction and support.
  • Drive sales using effective techniques such as quotation follow-up, proactive promotional selling, and telephone marketing.
  • Use the Power BI system to review daily reports and measure performance/output.
  • Utilize own ledgers and team ledgers to ensure all customers are contacted regularly to understand their needs and meet individual sales targets.
  • Ensure all enquiries and quotations are priced quickly and efficiently to maximize margins, with responses within 3 days.
  • Use directs where possible to reduce branch impact.
  • Prospect for new business to achieve customer base growth aligned with targets.
  • Review low spend/dormant accounts regularly to win back sales where possible.

Week 1: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:30
