About Us
Chandlers Building Supplies has been serving customers since 1993 and is part of the Independent Builders Merchants Group (IBMG), one of the UK's leading builders' merchant groups.
We're looking for an enthusiastic Internal Sales Assistant - Civils to join our Ringmer branch and help drive sales within our established and growing Civils department.
The Role
You'll be responsible for supporting customers, preparing quotations, processing orders, and providing expert advice on civils, drainage and groundworks products.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with builders' merchant, civils, drainage, groundworks, construction supplies or merchanting experience looking to develop their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email
- Support customers with civils, drainage and groundworks product enquiries
- Prepare and follow up quotations
- Process orders accurately and efficiently
- Build strong relationships with contractors and trade customers
- Work closely with suppliers to source products
- Maximise sales opportunities through upselling and linked selling
- Maintain product knowledge across civils and drainage products
- Support stock control and branch operations
- Help achieve branch sales and service targets
What We're Looking For
- Builders' merchant, civils, drainage, groundworks or construction supplies experience preferred
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilitiesi>
- Experience handling quotations and customer enquiries
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Positive and proactive team player
- Basic IT skills
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
1 in 4 Saturdays: 8:00am - 12:00pm
