Job Type: Full‑Time | Permanent Role

Machinist – responsible for setting up and operating the moulder and all tool room equipment for the production and packaging of machined timber goods, ensuring all goods produced meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work effectively as part of a team promoting the company’s vision, values and goals at all times.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues and other departments by delivering a professional, prompt and effective service.
  • Assist with the operation of all woodworking machinery and handling equipment as directed by the Mill Supervisor, including saws, moulder, cross cuts, kindling machine, grip line and baler as required.
  • Accurately process and handle timber products in line with health and safety procedures and company policy.
  • Operate all machinery in line with safe systems of work.
  • Carry out daily maintenance tasks as required and report any defects to management.
  • Update the LAP (Local Authority Plan) as and when required.
  • Use plant to safely transport timber for storage if required and trained.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is in place prior to departure so goods can be tracked.

  • Experience in timber or as a machinist.
