We're looking for a reliable Van Driver / Yard Operative to join our team at our Hassocks branch.
The Role
This is a varied role combining customer deliveries with yard operations. You'll spend part of your time delivering building materials to customers and part supporting the day-to-day running of our busy yard.
You'll be a key member of the branch team and often the face of Parkers when delivering directly to customers.
Driving Duties
- Deliver building materials safely and efficiently using a company van (up to 3.5t)
- Plan delivery routes and complete deliveries on schedule
- Check and secure loads before leaving the branch
- Provide excellent customer service on every delivery
- Represent Parkers Building Supplies professionally at all times
- Serve customers and assist with loading vehicles
- Load and unload supplier and customer deliveries
- Operate a forklift (if licensed)
- Pick and prepare customer orders
- Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe
- Carry out stock checks and report any discrepancies
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and PPE requirements
What We're Looking For
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience within a builders' merchant, trade, warehouse, or construction environment beneficial
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Reliable, hard-working, and safety conscious
- Positive attitude and strong team ethic
Working Hours
Week 1
Monday-Friday: 7:00am-5:00pm
Week 2
Monday-Friday: 7:00am-5:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am-12:30pm
