About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Shop Floor Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our Godstone branch shop floor and yard. You'll support the Branch Manager in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and leading a motivated team to achieve branch goals. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with supervisory experience in a Builders Merchant, DIY, Trade, or Retail environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating the shop floor and yard team
- Delivering excellent customer service to trade and retail customers
- Supporting branch sales targets and identifying opportunities to grow sales
- Ensuring stock is available, replenished, and accurately managed
- Maintaining high standards of merchandising and branch presentation
- Managing daily branch operations to ensure efficiency
- Promoting a strong health & safety culture
- Developing and coaching team members
- Resolving customer queries and issues professionally
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence managing people and operational processes
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
- DIY or Trade Retail background
- Knowledge of Heavyside and Building Materials
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or similar)
