We provide free, practical support to older people and fund local organisations across the UK. We work to highlight the challenges of older people in poverty and campaign for change.
This Adviser role is integral to the day‑to‑day delivery of our Advice and Support Service in Scotland. The service provides information, advice and follow‑up support on welfare benefits, housing and social care.
Responsibilities- Deliver specialist support on Scottish housing and welfare benefits to older people, families and carers.
- Provide generalist support on a range of issues through the duty service.
- Work in a high‑volume advice setting and operate within an advice supervision framework.
- Contribute to the development of the Scottish advice offer as it expands to cover social care.
- In‑depth specialist knowledge of housing or welfare benefits in Scotland, especially as they relate to older people.
- Experience working in a high‑volume advice setting with supervision.
- Knowledge of Scottish social care (desirable).
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Full‑time (35 hours per week) or part‑time (minimum 21 hours per week). Flexibility to work over five days, a 9‑day fortnight, or as part‑time.
SalaryLondon based: £34,493 per year
Home‑based: £31,054 per year
