Mobility Engineer
Salary £27,000 – £32,000 dependent on skills and experience + Company Pension
full-time permanent – 5 days per week with the potential/flexibility of working some Saturdays based on business needs

Field based – Transit van provided during working hours – full clean driving licence essential
Independence Mobility are a mobility equipment retailer that supplies a vast range of products including wheelchairs, specialist seating, riser recliners and trikes. Due to company growth we are looking to expand by employing a new Mobility engineer to join our friendly team.
The role includes servicing and repair of mobility equipment, in addition to this you will also deliver and install the products for customers and perform a detailed handover to ensure the customer is confident with its usage. Due to the varied nature of our customers and their situations, no two days are the same and there is always something new to learn.
It is crucial that the successful candidate has a hands-on approach, and a technical, repair or equipment maintenance background is ideal. Training, both in-house and external, is provided to aid progression within the role. This would include advanced fault diagnosis, repairs and re-programming for high-end equipment such as standing wheelchairs.
Typical responsibilities would also include, but not limited to:-
- Servicing and repairs
- Checking and completing deliveries
- Stock Taking
- Picking Orders
- Some heavy lifting will be required at times
Because our customers are vulnerable, and we often visit medical and care facilities, it would be a requirement that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless medically exempt. You must also be able to drive a Transit LWB sized van with a full, clean driving licence. The engineer will have use of the van during work hours only and will not be able to take it home.
The successful candidate will also be asked to supply or pass a DBS check.
