Key Responsibilities- Manage and Direct Shop and Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily shop and warehouse operations
- Lead fabrication, inventory, and material flow from start to finish
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and productive work environment
- Respond to emergency calls and support urgent field operations as needed
- Manage Inventory, Purchasing, and Materials
- Manage inventory of pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, and sprinkler heads
- Forecast material needs based on project schedules
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs)
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely deliveries
- Control Costs and Support Profitability
- Monitor material costs and identify savings opportunities
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Reduce waste and control expenditures
- Coordinate Field Operations Support
- Ensure crews have required materials and tools
- Stage jobs and coordinate deliveries
- Resolve material issues impacting productivity
- Lead and Develop Shop Personnel
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff
- Assign tasks and manage schedules
- Oversee Equipment and Facility Operations
- Maintain shop equipment and vehicles
- Keep shop clean and organized
- Ensure Safety and Compliance
- Enforce OSHA standards
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes
