Curtis Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for an experienced Power Generation Field Service Technician - Rental at our location in Portsmouth, Virginia. This individual can be looking to start their career or have previous experience as a technician. Indel Power Group is a distributor/dealer for major brands such as mtu, Daimler/Mercedes, Perkins, PSI Engines, Detroit Diesel, Kohler, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Volvo Penta. Joining the service team will provide you with a rewarding work environment, excellent pay and benefits, and an opportunity for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
- Commitment to safety and cleanliness.
- Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes.
- Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets.
- Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts.
- Order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components.
This position requires occasional driving.

Physical Demands
Technician roles are physically demanding and require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds (or more) may be required. The Technician will frequently use hands to manipulate and grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, or twist to perform repairs and inspections. Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. A technician may work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes.
