Main Purpose
At Indeed Flex we are here to disrupt the staffing industry, through ground breaking technology. Underpinned by a layer of support second to none, we provide our clients the ability to manage their temporary staffing requirements in a single and coordinated way. This role sits within the UK Risk & Compliance Team, responsible for mitigating risk and empowering growth through expert, actionable advice across the full regulatory compliance landscape. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer, you will be the frontline for our day-to-day operations, independently managing a sophisticated caseload of escalations and strategic projects with a primary focus on UK employment regulation. You will serve as both a technical anchor within the team and a trusted advisor to the wider business, requiring the professional confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and the absolute discretion to handle highly sensitive data in a fast-paced environment. This is an in-office role, five days per week with the option to work from home on Thursdays. This role can be based in our London or Manchester offices.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Compliance Framework & Policy Ownership: Design, strengthen and audit the compliance frameworks governing worker onboarding, Right to Work, Agency Worker Regulations and contractual arrangements to ensure full alignment with UK legislation.
- Senior Risk Escalation & Advisory: Act as the lead technical authority for complex worker-related HR and compliance matters, providing risk-based direction and confidently challenging stakeholders when necessary.
- Health, Safety & GRC Oversight: Coordinate with external Health & Safety partners to oversee UK-wide controls and conduct internal audits across the worker lifecycle to identify systemic risks and control gaps.
- Investigations & Litigation Support: Lead sensitive investigations into grievances and worker relations, drafting formal responses and maintaining robust documentation suitable for Employment Tribunal review.
- Compliance Project Management: Lead end-to-end regulatory projects and process improvement initiatives, using data analysis to identify risk trends and strengthen controls as the business scales.
- Continuous Improvement & Training: Utilise data analysis to identify risk trends, lead compliance-strengthening projects and deliver internal training to ensure operational teams remain compliant as the business scales.
Requirements
- Regulatory Expertise: Proven experience in Compliance, Risk or HR with deep knowledge of UK employment law, including Agency Worker Regulations, Right to Work, Worker Status and GDPR.
- Case & Risk Management: Skilled in leading sensitive investigations, grievances and people-risk escalations with a high degree of independence.
- Audit & Reporting: Experience conducting compliance reviews and drafting clear, defensible policies and investigation reports.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable interpreting datasets to identify risk trends and implementing proportionate corrective actions.
Preferred (but not essential)
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in temporary staffing, high-volume recruitment or contingent workforce models.
- Legal Exposure: Familiarity with Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) frameworks or experience supporting Employment Tribunal/pre-litigation activity.
Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as CIPD, CertRP, NEBOSH or a Diploma in Compliance are highly advantageous.
