Indaver is a full waste management specialist that offers a comprehensive in-house solution for your waste and recycling requirements. This, combined with bespoke fine chemicals manufacturing provides a holistic end-to-end provision for hazardous waste, recycling and molecular development. At its site in Middlewich, Cheshire, UK (with immediate central links to the M6), Indaver operates a solvent recycling facility; accepting hazardous and non-hazardous (waste) solvents, providing bespoke recovery solutions. Indaver is able to support customers with lab analysis, pilot scale trials, and recycling at commercial scale.
A highly skilled and experienced workforce, including chemical engineers, engineers, chemists, and senior plant operators, are at your service. With continuous investment and innovation to enhance existing facilities and new equipment to meet the needs of the customer base. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Control team as an Apprentice QC Chemist. This role offers hands-on experience in analytical chemistry within a solvent recovery environment, supporting the testing and quality assurance of recovered solvents and related products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Follow the company's safe system of work policies and practices, including Laboratory Best Practice in combination with the relevant risk assessment, compliance with PPE policy, accident and near miss reporting, and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct Laboratory Analysis on Crude, In-process and Dispatch samples using a variety of analytical techniques.
- Maintenance of Laboratory equipment when required.
- Daily replenishment of laboratory supplies.
- Complete weekly stock checks in the Laboratory area, assist in the ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly, wearing correct PPE, maintaining high levels of housekeeping - keeping a clean and orderly environment.
- Completing periodic checks of the laboratory balances, LICO colourimeter, Karl Fisher, GC's, fume hoods and others.
- Management of samples.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Education: Minimum GCSEs Math's, English, Science level 4 or higher.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of chemistry principles.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Diligent and conscientious.
This is necessary to ensure compliance with risk assessments and insurance coverage for laboratory activities.
