Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland. Currently, in Essex, Indaver is constructing the Rivenhall Facility, which will process circa 595,000 t of residual waste per annum and produce electricity to power the region of about 60,000 homes. Indaver is now hiring 65 specialist personnel to maintain and operate this large-scale process plant.

The Maintenance Technician (E&I) will be responsible for the execution of all front-line electrical, control system and instrumentation maintenance activities across all of the process, building and site systems that comprise the Rivenhall facility, in accordance with the operational requirements of the facility in order to drive compliance and ensure high levels of operational availability of the facility. The Maintenance Technician will also be required to support the development of less-experienced maintenance technicians and apprentices within the maintenance team, operating in a 24 hour/365 days-per-year facility.

Responsibilities
  • All works are executed in accordance with Indaver's Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity.
  • Ensure that all work activities are executed safely.
  • Take responsibility for the safety of others.
  • Maintenance of the facility using best Indaver/Industry practices in compliance with all relevant environmental, legal, license and internal norms.
  • Collaborative delivery of maintenance services within the facility.
  • Sharing of best practices across the maintenance team.
  • Execution of all preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Execution of planned and unplanned shutdown activities.
  • Identification of operational improvement projects that simplify, standardise or improve the operability, maintainability and/or compliance of the facility.
  • Ensure projects are executed to a high standard and any as-built modifications are documented.
Qualifications
  • SVQ/HNC/HND with significant experience gained in a maintenance, construction and/or engineering services environment. Lower qualifications will be considered when supported by significant directly applicable experience.
  • Proven maintenance experience within a complex operational environment (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Industrial Process).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control System and PLC's would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with Low, Medium and High Voltage switching and control equipment would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Knowledge and experience of complex integrated plant and equipment commonly found within continuous process industries such as power generation, cement industry and petrochemicals.
  • Specific Furnace/Boiler and/or rotating equipment experience is a distinct advantage.
