A small, busy nursery is seeking a dedicated and passionate second Deputy Manager to be part of a small team helping to lead the nursery and ensure a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a strong background in early childhood education, and the ability to effectively manage staff alongside fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Duties
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.
- Assist in leading and supporting a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance for development and training.
- Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication, regular updates, and involvement in nursery activities.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor children's progress and development through regular assessments and observations.
- Assist in managing nursery budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within a nursery environment.
- A Full and Relevant Childcare Qualification.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Experience of working with children in a nurturing capacity is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to motivate staff while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
