We are looking for an experienced Estate Services Team Leader to join us! This is a key role, overseeing a team of Estate Cleaners to ensure we are providing a safe and clean space for our tenants to enjoy.

About Us: We are a social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, mainly in the Bradford district. We employ a talented workforce of nearly 1,000 people. This year we've launched our five-year Corporate Strategy, which runs to 2029. Duties include:

  • Supervise small teams of Operatives providing the communal block cleaning and rubbish removal from land
  • Carry out audits and check work standards
  • Deal with low level disciplinary issues within the teams
  • Ensure work, including health and safety compliance tasks, is planned, completed and recorded accurately
  • Provide mentoring and training in the form of tool box talks refresher training and new starter inductions
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are applied, and that risk assessments and checks are undertaken to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of all equipment, tools and vans is completed and within the time scales required

Requirements:

  • Experience of supervising, directing and supporting teams of people
  • The ability to be an effective team player, good organisational skills, good problem-solving skills and experience of managing your own workload
  • Numeracy and English literacy skills up to level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience of using IT Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet for work purposes
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment methodology
  • Experience using hand tools and power operated equipment such as vacuums, mops, sack carts and industrial buffers in a safe manner
  • A current UK car driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work
  • Right to work in the UK - Visa sponsorship is not available
  • A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
