We are currently recruiting a Community Safety Officer to join us on a permanent basis. We\’re looking for a dedicated individual to take the lead on high‑level anti‑social behaviour (ASB) cases, from initial investigation through to court proceedings. Creating safer communities for our customers to thrive.

Duties include:

  • Carry out full investigations and enforce tenancy conditions with particular responsibility for higher level ASB and nuisance cases.
  • Draft witness statements, notice of seeking possession and proposed prohibitions for ASB injunctions.
  • Complete onsite inspections and attend home visits.
  • Work in partnership with external bodies such as the Police and attend meetings.
  • Prepare cases for Court hearings in the civil court.

Requirements

  • Over 2 years experience in carrying out investigations and preparing cases for Court hearings in either the civil or criminal courts.
  • In depth knowledge of neighbour nuisance and the remedies available to landlords and tenants, including possession and injunctions etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of Nuisance and Anti‑Social Behaviour procedures and the law surrounding these.
  • A qualification in a relevant subject would be advantageous, such as a HNC Housing Studies or relevant qualification.
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2014 and The Housing Act and current developments in Housing, Landlord and Tenant law.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A strong team work ethic and the ability to motivate and encourage others.
  • Good presentation skills in a wide range of settings.
  • Commutable distance of BD17 7BN with weekly attendance at the office.
  • A full driving license and own vehicle in order to complete on site inspections and home visits across the Bradford District.
  • Right to Work in the UK – Visa sponsorship is not available.

A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre‑employment process – Criminal Conviction Checks

  • Starting salary of £38,424 up-to £42,000 per year
