We’re seeking a proactive Driver / Picker to join our Logistics team. This is a key role, ensuring trade operatives have the right materials at the right time by delivering, collecting and managing stock efficiently across sites and the warehouse. You'll be based at BD2 1QN.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am till 3:15pm, Friday 7:30am till 4pm
Duties include:
- Fulfil deliveries and multi drops of materials to our trade operatives and customers using one of our commercial transit vans.
- Collecting trade materials from third party merchants, collecting small amounts of trade waste from trade operatives, and other tasks as deemed necessary throughout the day.
- Pick stock orders using our electronic picking guns.
- Use any electronic devices, tablets and phones as part of the service delivery.
- Perform other warehouse related tasks including but not limited to, putting away stock deliveries, assisting in ongoing inventory counts and cleaning and tidying the warehouse.
- Follow and uphold health & safety policies and standards relevant to the Logistics Service.
- Safe loading and unloading of delivery vans.
- Maintain strong communication throughout your working day with all necessary parties and follow operational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Basic literacy and numerical skills.
- Ability to utilise I.T equipment such as mobile phones, tablets.
- Right to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying material across the warehouse.
- Ability to carry out physical tasks involving frequent bending, kneeling, lifting and stretching on a regular basis.
- Willingness to undertake any job-related training deemed necessary.
- Willingness to wear PPE safety clothing and boots as required (we will provide these).
- Warehouse skills and experience in automated material management systems desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working with customers and the general public.
- Full driving licence and competency driving a commercial transit van (manual).
- A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks.
