We are currently recruiting a Data Protection Coordinator to join us until 31st March 2027. One of the primary focuses of this role will be providing support to the Data Protection Lead with Data Subject Access Requests and providing administrative support to the function ahead of our audit. You'll bring excellent organisational and record keeping skills with the ability to work confidently in a compliance administrative role.

About us: We are a social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, mainly in the Bradford district. Duties include:

  • Assist the Data Protection Lead with the day-to-day administrative tasks of the department and with project work related to the improvement plan, audits etc.
  • Respond to queries relating to Data Protection, create and maintain a query and policy toolkit for internal publication.
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to internal communications relating to Data Protection.
  • Support the coordination of the Data Protection Working Group, take minutes, track actions and provide advice and support to those representatives.
  • Develop and deliver training on Data Protection to employees.
  • Take ownership of tasks and workload, being accountable for responsibilities and organising priorities using initiative and little supervision or direction.
  • Work with all departments ensuring compliance with the Data Protection legislation.
  • Manage responses to Data Protection Information Right’s requests and Freedom of Information requests to ensure statutory deadlines are met and responses are within the Law.
  • Follow formal Data Protection Standards based on ICO guidelines and liaise with ICO in relation to queries, breaches, investigations and regulatory complaints.
  • Manage the response to incidents and data breaches, escalating where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience of responding to DSARs (essential).
  • Awareness of the key requirements of and champion excellent Data Protection compliance.
  • Experience of working with personal data and associated laws.
  • A good understanding of information security issues along with experience of applying records management best practice in the day-to-day office environment.
  • Knowledge of the data protection impact assessment process identifying risks and suggesting mitigation.
  • Sector experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office which includes every Tuesday. Right to work in the UK, visa sponsorship isn't available. A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks.
