As a National Account Manager, you will work closely with the UK’s leading High Street retailers, joining a well-established and highly skilled team in the FMCG and Fintech markets. In this position, you will manage a portfolio of national retail accounts and collaborate with well-known global brands. You will build relationships with major retail partners, implement marketing, promotional and category plans, and collaborate on projects with technology, finance and logistics teams. Responsibilities:

  • Proactively driving the growth of existing retail partners through product additions, category management, promotional planning and formal account management.
  • Managing and reviewing the account P&L’s and developing plans to improve profitability in order to achieve targets.
  • Proactively targeting potential new product and merchant/retail partners in line with overall company strategy and building new business pipeline to achieve new business revenue, margins and distribution targets.
  • Create RFP/RFI submissions for new business opportunities and delivery proposals to external contacts at all levels.
  • Commercial modeling for all proposed deals, interacting with head of international Finance and National Account Controller and Business Unit Manager when required.
  • Interaction with all key international resource functions to manage all projects from end to end and ensure projects/launches are delivered along agreed timelines.
  • Regular and timely reporting and reviews of accounts, products and new business opportunities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Marketing manager to produce effective promotions in channel and evaluate accordingly.
  • Follow technical processes to ensure projects and products are launched in a timely manner.
  • Constantly strive to improve process and efficiencies in conjunction with your line management.
  • Understand and work towards formal project management systems when delivering technical project based work.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years National Account Management or Executive within or related to FMCG and Retail.
  • Efficient and experienced account management skills & results focused.
  • Proactive hunter of new business & opportunities who thrives on success and can inspire a team to achieve success.
  • Experience of P&L management & responsibility a benefit.
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail, exceptional business skills and ability to manage several projects & tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of assessing, implementing & refining account plans – examples required.
  • Willingness to take ownership and ability to drive projects from end to end.
  • Ability to work equally well independently or part of a team and able to prioritise tasks.
  • Sociable and gregarious and able to quickly build valuable relationships both internally and with business partners.
  • Confident communicator with excellent negotiation skills and ability to interact at any level.
  • Highly proficient presentation and commercial modeling skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Highly proficient with data analysis.
  • Bilingual language skills a plus.
