At Wellington IT we provide the most successful range of Credit Union software in Northern Ireland/Ireland, currently moving billions each year and managing funds for more than 1 in 4 people. Our customers use our software to power every aspect of their financial services business from savings and loans, through to business intelligence, online banking, mobile apps, debit card services and ATMs.
Wellington IT is part of Volaris, an operating group of Constellation Software Inc, a large corporate business based in Canada. Volaris acquires and strengthens companies within the markets they compete, enabling them to grow â whether that growth comes through organic measures such as new initiatives and product development, day-to-day business, or through complementary acquisitions. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, Wellington IT offers fantastic learning programs, career growth opportunities, and a culture thatâs all about continuous improvement.
Wellington IT is growing, and weâre looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to take full ownership of how we show up, in the market, with our customers, and with our people. This is a highâownership, handsâon role with real autonomy. Youâll be responsible for shaping our story, setting direction, and making sure marketing and communications genuinely support the growth of the business, not just produce activity.
If you like ownership, clarity, and seeing the impact of your work, this role is for you.
As we scale, clarity matters. We need a single, accountable owner for our brand, marketing and communications â someone who can turn strategy into a clear narrative, disciplined execution, and measurable impact. This role exists to ensure Wellington IT:
- Speaks with one clear, confident voice
- Has a strong, credible reputation in our sector
- Communicates consistently with customers, partners, candidates and employees
- Uses marketing deliberately, not reactively
This role blends strategy and delivery. Youâll define what good looks like â and then make it happen.
What youâll be responsible for:
- Strategy & focus: Own and evolve our marketing and communications strategy. Translate business priorities into clear messaging and practical plans. Decide what we should focus on â and what we should stop doing.
- Brand, narrative & content: Own our brand narrative, tone of voice and messaging. Lead the creation of compelling content â thought leadership, leadership messaging, product stories and employer brand. Ensure consistency without losing relevance for different audiences.
- Channels & PR: Own and improve our owned channels, including website and LinkedIn. Lead our PR and external communications approach. Work closely with senior leaders on external messaging and reputation topics.
- Internal communications & employer brand: Build a simple, effective internal communications rhythm. Partner with People & Culture on employer brand and engagement messaging. Help leaders communicate clearly and confidently.
- Sales enablement: Own the creation of a monthly customer communications pack used by our Business Development Managers (BDMs) in customer conversations. Establish and run a monthly communications rhythm, ensuring BDMs are equipped with consistent, relevant messages at the right time. Work closely with BDMs to understand customer themes, priorities and feedback, and translate these into clear, practical materials. Coordinate stakeholders across the business (product, operations, leadership) to bring together accurate, aligned and commercially relevant content. Ensure all customerâfacing materials reinforce our value proposition, positioning and strategic priorities.
- Delivery & agency management: Deliver campaigns and initiatives endâtoâend. Brief and manage agencies and suppliers â using them to accelerate delivery, not define direction. Maintain momentum while protecting focus and priorities.
- Measurement & learning: Define what success looks like and track what matters. Share clear insights with leadership â not vanity metrics. Continuously improve based on evidence and outcomes.
What success looks like:
Within your first 12â18 months:
- Wellington IT has a clear, differentiated story in the market.
- Our visibility and credibility increase with customers, partners and talent.
- BDMs are consistently equipped with strong, aligned materials for customer conversations.
- Leaders feel supported and confident in communications.
- Employees understand and can articulate who we are and why we matter.
- Marketing activity is focused, disciplined and impactâdriven.
What weâre looking for:
Weâre looking for someone who wants ownership, not just a job title.
Youâll likely bring:
- Strong, broad experience across B2B marketing and communications, with clear ownership of strategy and delivery.
- Experience spanning both strategy and handsâon delivery.
- Strong grounding in PR, external communications or reputation management.
- Confidence working with senior leaders and advising on messaging.
- Experience in B2B, technology, professional services or regulated environments.
Youâll be someone who:
- Thinks commercially and prioritises impact.
- Is comfortable creating structure where none exists.
- Can balance bigâpicture thinking with practical delivery.
- Takes accountability seriously and enjoys seeing results.
- Is happy to roll up sleeves in a standalone leadership role.
This is not:
- A junior or executionâonly marketing role.
- A digitalâonly or contentâonly position.
- A role where direction sits with an agency.
Why join Wellington IT:
- A role with real influence and visibility.
- Trust and autonomy from leadership.
- The chance to shape a growing organisation at an important stage.
- A collaborative culture that values clarity, ownership and progress.
If youâre motivated by ownership, clarity and impact â and want to help shape how a growing business communicates with the world â weâd love to hear from you.
Competencies:
- Integrity
- Energy & Drive
- Initiative
- Domain Expertise
- Resilience
- Execution
- Customer Centric
- Team Building
Wellington IT Culture & Values:
- Commitment â We are committed to the success of our colleagues and customers
- Teamwork - We do amazing things when we work as a team
- Respect - We value and seek everyoneâs contribution
- Honesty - We are open and honest in everything we do
- Positivity - We embrace and inspire positivity in each other
- Leadership - We lead by example with our words, our actions and results
