Inclusive Consulting is excited to partner with a well-established SME based in Doncaster. We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join the business on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation during an exciting period of transformation and process improvement, working closely with the Finance Director within a hands-on finance team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, delivering accurate and meaningful financial reporting to support business decision-making. Alongside core management accounting responsibilities, the role will also support process improvements across the finance function and help introduce greater commercial finance support across the wider business.
Role Responsibilities- Produce monthly management accounts, including full commentary, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist the Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
- Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to support business decision-making.
- Provide support across purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, cashflow management, and payroll functions during periods of annual leave or increased workload.
- Assist with improving finance processes, reporting accuracy, and controls across the business.
- Support the introduction of finance business partnering across the organisation, working with internal stakeholders to improve understanding of budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Support the Finance Director with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as required.
- Previous experience within a Management Accountant role or a similar all-round finance position.
- Strong management accounting experience, ideally gained within an SME environment.
- Confident producing management accounts independently from trial balance through to reporting stage.
- Strong Excel and Sage experience, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data effectively.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business.
- Proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable working within a hands-on environment and supporting across the wider finance team.
