As a Senior Insurance Technician within Howden's Business Services team, you will support the delivery of high‐quality technical and administrative services for our growing client base. Acting as a trusted escalation point for London‐based teams and internal stakeholders, you will take ownership of complex technical processes, ensure the accuracy of data and documentation, and uphold rigorous compliance standards. You will also contribute to best practice development and coach less experienced team members to strengthen technical capability across the department.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex technical administration tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review, validate, and approve technical data submissions in line with company standards.
- Prepare and audit technical reports, statements, and reconciliations.
- Oversee data entry and credit‐control activity, and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Provide timely and accurate management information to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all records and transactions comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a key escalation point for internal teams, brokers, clients, and external partners.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues to build broader team capability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across systems and workflow processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in technical administration or accounting within insurance or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of London Market processes, systems, and technical requirements.
- Proven ability to review, audit, and quality‐check complex work for accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence colleagues at all levels.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‐solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and support less experienced team members.
Education
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- A-Levels (Grade A‐C) or equivalent. Progression towards professional qualifications is beneficial but not required.
