Full-time Team Leader (37.5 hours per week) overseeing a team of Criminal Justice Recovery Workers delivering CJIT services across Hampshire. This role offers the opportunity to lead a county-wide Criminal Justice Intervention Team, supporting people who use drugs and alcohol and are involved in the criminal justice system to reduce harm, achieve recovery, improve their quality of life and reduce reoffending.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to manage the Criminal Justice Intervention Team (CJIT) across Hampshire as part of Inclusion Recovery Hampshire, our county-wide drug and alcohol service.
Main duties of the job
The CJIT works with individuals who use drugs and/or alcohol and are involved in the criminal justice system, helping them to engage in treatment, reduce drug-related harm and offending, and improve their health, wellbeing and life opportunities. Working as part of the wider leadership team, you will oversee a team of Criminal Justice Recovery Workers delivering interventions across Hampshire Inclusion hubs, prison in-reach services, police custody suites, probation settings and within the community.
You will support staff managing complex and dynamic caseloads, delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions and promoting recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day coordination, performance and quality of the CJIT across Hampshire, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred delivery in line with commissioning requirements and agreed service outcomes. You will be an integral part of our leadership team, shaping service delivery and making a real difference to people's lives and the wider communities we serve.

Job responsibilities

- Work alongside the Inclusion Recovery Hampshire Management Team to ensure CJIT performance targets and outcomes are achieved through effective supervision, mentoring and leadership.
- Provide operational leadership to Criminal Justice Recovery Workers supporting people who use drugs and alcohol across Inclusion hubs, prison inreach, police custody, probation and community-based settings.
- Support staff to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-focused interventions aimed at reducing drug-related harm and offending.
- Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, Service Leads and other Team Leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery and staff support.
- Guide and support staff to engage individuals into treatment pathways and encourage sustained recovery journeys.
- Promote inclusive, non-judgemental practice and strong partnership working with criminal justice agencies.
- Day-to-day operational management of the Criminal Justice Intervention Team working across Hampshire.
- Line management, supervision and development of a team of Criminal Justice Recovery Workers working across Inclusion hubs, prison inreach, police custody, probation and community environments.
- Ensuring high-quality, effective and person-centred interventions for people who use drugs and alcohol and are involved in the criminal justice system.
- Oversight of staffing rotas, service coverage and activity planning across multiple sites.
- Undertaking HR processes including attendance management, performance improvement planning and staff appraisals.
- Recruitment, induction and development of new staff.
- Supporting teams to meet commissioner-defined targets and outcomes.
- Using performance and activity data to inform operational decision-making and service improvement.
- Promoting service user involvement and feedback.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with police, prisons, probation and partner agencies.
- Contributing to countywide leadership, operational and governance meetings.
