Work as an integral part of the service in delivering high quality brief interventions to people within the criminal justice system including Custody Suites, Prisons and Probation.
- Facilitate harm reduction interventions including the delivery of Naloxone training to clients, families and partnerships.
- Support non-opiates and non-dependent alcohol users who are released from custody.
- Contribute to working collaboratively with people to build their recovery capital and ensure positive recovery outcomes.
- Ensure people have scheduled appointments and remove barriers to attendance.
- Promote visible recovery to clients within the criminal justice system.
- Reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
- Ensure that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
- Facilitate and oversee initial brief interventions and screening.
- Keep up to date and accurate records and documentation.
- Deliver training to partnership agencies.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
- To deliver effective brief interventions.
- To work with service users in attendance and manage day-to-day issues which arise upon release from custody or prisons.
- To signpost to local services and empower service users to build their community networks and recovery capital.
- To promote visible and contagious recovery to service users within the criminal justice systems.
- To work collaboratively with all service users/partner agencies/stakeholders to identify the barriers that prevent people from all communities accessing a full range of services, including substance misuse, mental health wellbeing and primary mental health services.
- To create and maintain a local Recovery Assets Register suitable for service users within the criminal justice systems.
