This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and compassionate team of Family Recovery Workers. The team is made up of 8 experienced practitioners working across Hampshire, all passionate about supporting families to achieve meaningful and lasting change.

You will be line managed by a supportive Team Leader and work alongside colleagues who value collaboration, reflective practice, and high‑quality family‑centred work.

This role is open to applicants with experience in the drug and alcohol field, and we also warmly welcome applications from newly qualified social workers looking to develop their skills in a specialist setting.

You will work closely with Children’s Services, supporting families within a priority cohort who require targeted, specialist intervention around substance use. A robust understanding of safeguarding is essential, as the role involves direct work with families, completing assessments and delivering interventions, sometimes within the family home.

Regular supervision is provided, alongside access to excellent training and ongoing professional development, ensuring you feel well supported in this rewarding and impactful role.

Family Recovery Worker role working 24 hours per week working in Andover. Some duties include;

  • Working in partnership with Children’s Services, attending their meetings and having a presence in social services
  • Completing consultations with children’s services where clients have been identified as needing support
  • Delivering substance use awareness training to partnership agencies
  • Provision of drug and alcohol treatment to Service Users within the locality.
  • Providing Specialist evidence-based Family Interventions to Service Users, families and their careers.
  • Supporting a service user and their family through their treatment journey from beginning to end
  • Embracing the concept of recovery and demonstrating this in your clinical work
  • Running a range of family-based group work programmes and support the Inclusion Recovery Programme
  • Ensuring that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
  • Completing reports for Children’s services and Courts where requested.

  • The role includes caseload management for cases identified by Children’s Services and Inclusion clients
  • Working in partnership with children’s services and other key stakeholders
  • Supporting families through substance use, providing specialist interventions such as motivational interviewing, CBT, solution focused brief treatment, Brief Interventions, Structured work, Risk Management, Safeguarding and Care Planning.
  • The successful candidate will also be supporting the Inclusion Recovery site in Andover, offering support in home visits and providing advice and information around safeguarding and attending the MDT regularly to provide updates
