About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transport Planner. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of our products to customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Great Britain.
Key Responsibilities:
Route Optimization: Assign customer sales to the most efficient transport routes to minimize costs and maximize delivery times.
Delivery Scheduling: Plan and assign delivery schedules to drivers, confirming booking dates and ensuring timely deliveries.
Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with both drivers and customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Reporting: Generate accurate and timely reports on deliveries, schedules, and performance metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams to coordinate delivery schedules and address any potential issues.
Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, and implement solutions.
Proven experience in Chilled goods in a transport planning or logistics role
Strong understanding of transportation logistics and route optimization
Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in transport management software
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
