The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional who enjoys a hands‑on operational role. • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and comprehensive audits across production and warehousing environments. Identify areas for improvement and implement practical corrective actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, health and safety legislation, and food industry standards. Keep the management team updated on regulatory changes affecting the sector.
  • Lead investigations into any workplace incidents, near‑misses, or hazards. Analyse root causes, compile detailed reports, and introduce preventative measures to minimise future risk.
  • Maintain, review, and update health and safety policies, safe systems of work (SSOW), and emergency response plans to ensure they remain robust and effective.

  • Collate safety metrics and present clear, data‑driven performance reports to senior management to help shape future safety strategies.
  • Other duties as required to support this position.

  • Solid understanding of the specific workplace hazards associated with food manufacturing and large‑scale warehousing operations (e.g., machinery safety, workplace transport, temperature‑controlled environments, and manual handling).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships, influence behaviours, and communicate safety expectations clearly to both floor staff and senior leadership.
