To support their recent growth, they are now seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to work with the management team and oversee H&S across their large site in Dungannon.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional who enjoys a hands‑on operational role. Managing daily risks within a fast‑paced environment, the successful candidate will lead compliance strategies, champion a positive safety culture, and ensure total alignment with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Promote a proactive health and safety culture across the site, ensuring all levels of staff are engaged, trained, and accountable for safety practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and comprehensive audits across production and warehousing environments.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement practical corrective actions.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, health and safety legislation, and food industry standards.
- Keep the management team updated on regulatory changes affecting the sector.
- Lead investigations into any workplace incidents, near‑misses, or hazards.
- Analyse root causes, compile detailed reports, and introduce preventative measures to minimise future risk.
- Maintain, review, and update health and safety policies, safe systems of work (SSOW), and emergency response plans to ensure they remain robust and effective.
- Design and deliver health and safety training modules, toolbox talks, and general inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Collate safety metrics and present clear, data‑driven performance reports to senior management to help shape future safety strategies.
- Other duties as required to support this position.
The Person
To be considered for this position, applicants must clearly demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of dedicated Health & Safety management experience, ideally gained within a food production, food manufacturing, or (FMCG) warehousing environment.
- Holder of a NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum; a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional membership (e.g., TechIOSH/CMIOSH) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of the specific workplace hazards associated with food manufacturing and large‑scale warehousing operations (e.g., machinery safety, workplace transport, temperature‑controlled environments, and manual handling).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships, influence behaviours, and communicate safety expectations clearly to both floor staff and senior leadership.
- A practical, collaborative approach to solving compliance challenges without disrupting core operational efficiency.
