This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Radiography leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of imaging services at Knightsbridge Clinic and Hospital , a newly opening specialist healthcare facility located in Knightsbridge.

As we prepare to launch our advanced diagnostic services, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to establish and lead a world‑class Diagnostic Imaging department from the outset. You will play a key role in developing clinical pathways, building a high‑performing imaging team, implementing best practice standards, and creating a culture focused on safety, innovation, and exceptional patient care.

You will provide strategic, operational, and professional leadership across the Diagnostic Imaging service, ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred imaging services across MRI, CT, X‑ray, ultrasound, and mammography.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced imaging leader to influence service development, drive transformation, and establish a leading diagnostic service within a modern specialist healthcare environment.

The Role

The Head of Diagnostic Imaging will hold overall responsibility for the leadership, development, and performance of all Diagnostic Imaging services at Knightsbridge Clinic and Hospital.

Working closely with Consultant Radiologists, clinicians, operational teams, and senior leadership, the post holder will ensure the delivery of an integrated, efficient, and clinically excellent imaging service that meets the highest standards of patient care, safety, and quality.

The successful candidate will lead the establishment of the imaging department, ensuring effective operational structures, workforce planning, governance processes, and clinical pathways are in place to support the successful opening and continued growth of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall strategic, operational, and professional leadership for Diagnostic Imaging services across all modalities, including MRI, CT, X‑ray, ultrasound, and mammography.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the imaging strategy in alignment with the vision, values, and objectives of Knightsbridge Clinic and Hospital.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to modality leads, radiographers, sonographers, and wider imaging teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including IR(ME)R, radiation protection standards, clinical governance frameworks, and professional guidance.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance programmes, clinical audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor operational performance, activity levels, patient experience, waiting times, and key service indicators.
  • Establish effective imaging pathways to support efficient patient flow and excellent patient experience.
  • Support the introduction of advanced imaging technologies, new techniques, and service innovation.
  • Provide strategic input into imaging equipment selection, procurement, maintenance planning, and future service expansion.
  • Work collaboratively with Radiologists, Consultants, clinical teams, and operational leadership to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Ensure imaging services operate with a strong focus on patient safety, dignity, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Leadership & Service Development

  • Shape the future direction of Diagnostic Imaging at Knightsbridge Clinic and Hospital.
  • Build the operational framework required for a successful department launch.
  • Develop a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong multidisciplinary relationships across the organisation.

About You

You will be an experienced and accomplished Radiography leader with a strong background in Diagnostic Imaging and a proven ability to lead clinical services.

You will have:

  • HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
  • Significant post‑registration experience within Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Proven leadership experience within a complex imaging environment.
  • Experience managing or overseeing multiple imaging modalities.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading teams, developing staff, and improving services.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding patient care and building high‑performing healthcare teams.

Experience supporting the development or opening of new healthcare services would be desirable.
