Information Technology Operations Manager

Location: Northampton, England, United Kingdom

Reporting to the IT Director, you will bridge the gap between high‑level strategy and daily operational excellence. You will lead a talented team to maintain a secure, resilient, and high‑performing environment.

You will be responsible for a team of 8–9 people spread across two or three offices in the Midlands (Norwich and Nottingham principally). We are looking for a senior team member who can support the CIO and will be responsible for the help‑desk, information security, and operations team. You will also be responsible for delivering projects for the organisation, allocating project management to a suitable team member if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the IT Director to implement firm‑wide IT and AI strategies.
  • Mentor and manage the IT Operations team, fostering a culture of high service standards and continuous learning.
  • Oversee and optimise our hybrid environment (on‑premises and cloud‑based).
  • Lead the charge on ISO27001/ISO22301 audits and manage Cyber Essentials Plus renewals.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Adoption Team to bring new technology projects to life.
  • Participate in the out‑of‑hours rota and provide high‑level stakeholder support.

Your Technical Toolkit

  • Legal industry background preferred.
  • Deep experience with M365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Azure/cloud infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge of Windows OS, SQL Server, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Proven track‑record in enterprise backup, replication, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong foundation in data security best practices.
  • Ability to take a project from concept to completion on time and on budget.

What is on offer?

  • Financial reward: £55‑60k, profit‑share scheme, and discretionary bonus.
  • Comprehensive private medical cover and a dedicated wellbeing calendar.
  • 25 days holiday plus a paid ‘charity day’.
  • Growth opportunities in an ‘Investors in People’ accredited environment.

Referral leads to increased chances of interview.
