My client is seeking a flexible IT Project Manager to deliver a variety of new system implementation projects. You will play a key role in the IT delivery team, collaborating with stakeholders from across the organisation to implement the IT change roadmap and strategy. This role is crucial to ensuring maximum benefit from the investment in information technology, enabling them to continue vital work across the UK & Ireland.
The IT Projects Team delivers a portfolio of over 80 IT projects, ranging in scale and time frame. The new IT Project Manager will manage a few of these projects at once, using project management processes based on PRINCE2. The projects could include delivering new applications, e.g. an ITSM tool, a database of financial information, or supporting the adoption of new processes, e.g. for Payment Cards.
The IT Project Manager Will:
- Develop and manage project plans with rigorous attention to budget, quality, and time criteria, reporting progress to ensure uninterrupted service and value for money.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex ideas/processes to non-technical audiences.
- Support the adoption of new technology across the territory.
- Coordinate technology changes with senior IT leaders and unit heads to mitigate service impacts.
- Adhere to, and support continual improvement in project management practices, policies, and documentation, adopting best practice developments.
- Own and resolve issues, collaborating with the wider IT team and stakeholders as needed.
Need to be degree‑educated (or equivalent practical experience) with a minimum of Prince 2 Practitioner certification. Need to have excellent experience in planning, managing, and delivering large IT change projects in complex, multi‑disciplinary, and geographically dispersed organisations.
Highly Desirable: 5+ years / a background in Public Sector or non-profit sector.
Rate And Contract: £350-400 per day. 9 month initial term from 1st June 2026, with potential to extend. Location Hybrid. 2 days per week in London Office (SE5).
