Overview of the role: Incisive Media’s flagship publication Investment Week is looking for a hardworking reporter to join its dynamic team. Investment Week provides the latest investment news, analysis and opinion for wealth managers and the UK funds industry. Guided by the editor, as well as the title’s news editor and features editor, the reporter will work alongside colleagues to break news, stay ahead of industry movements and create content for our email alerts, which are typically sent out three times per day. Alongside writing news stories, the Investment Week team regularly writes features focusing on industry themes, exclusive research, and interviews with key figures in the asset management world.

The editorial team at Investment Week covers a wide range of subjects, from macroeconomics to industry-level scoops, as well as thought-provoking, longer-form content that aims to pave the way for fresh thinking within the asset management and wealth management industries.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Help drive the news agenda for IW including developing big stories, generating exclusives and finding interesting new angles.
- Be able to produce a high level of news coverage and features, including suggesting ideas and ensuring we are ahead of the competition.
- Develop a good working knowledge of all the areas we write about, including different asset classes, markets, regulation, investment products.
- Develop senior level contacts across the wealth and asset management sector.
- Help tell our stories across platforms including online, video and social media.
- Represent IW in the market and attend key events, both within and outside normal office hours.
- Use your best efforts to meet agreed deadlines, which may occasionally require working outside of normal office hours.
What we value:
- A degree or equivalent in journalism, media studies or communications, or other relevant subject.
- At least one year’s experience in journalism.
- Knowledge of investment and UK financial services or experience in financial reporting would be ideal but is not essential.
- Experience of writing news, features, analysis and interviews.
- Ability to write accurate copy to a high standard.
- Experience of working in a newsroom that produces off-diary and exclusive reporting.
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of meeting short and long-term deadlines.
