Incipio curates beautiful spaces with vibrant atmospheres for great times. The Welfare Officer's role is to work closely with the Management Team on peak shifts, ensuring all guests and team are safe. This includes ensuring any vulnerable guests are looked after and supported, any intoxicated guests are safely escorted from the venue, identifying and reporting drug use, supporting the team with refusal of service, ensuring there is water for guests to drink and reporting on all Safety Security and Licensing activities.
What You'll Be Getting Up To
- Monitor all guests within the venue, identifying any guest who may show signs of vulnerability through:
- Intoxication (slurred speech, unsteady on their feet, sleeping, vomiting etc)
- Unwanted attention
- Being left alone by friends / colleagues
- Limited access to phones/internet to book transport
- Showing signs of distress
- Support the Bar Team after refusal of alcohol sales are made and/or guests are asked to leave by Door Supervisors. Ensure the guest involved is:
- Taken to the nominated welfare space, away from loud music and crowds
- Reunited with friends or colleagues
- Offered water
- Offered support in getting home (i.e. by booking a taxi, escorting them to local transport links etc)
- Able to leave the venue without risk of personal injury
- Support the Manager on duty and SIA Door Supervisors during the dispersal period, monitoring guests as they leave the premises and offering support to guests as required.
- Log all interventions of welfare in the 'Welfare Log' at the close of business. This must include the time, details of the support offered and the resolution. These must be checked by the duty manager and cross-referenced against all refusal of alcohol sales.
