Communications Director (Europe & Africa)

This role can be based in any of our markets within our Europe & Africa Region.

Our Communications team is seeking a Communications Director to join our team which can be located in any of our European Markets.

This newly expanded role offers an exciting opportunity to shape strategic communications across Inchcape’s dynamic E&A region. As a trusted advisor, you’ll work hands-on across a variety of projects, influencing senior stakeholders including the Regional CEO and Leadership Team to help build and protect our reputation and drive strategy execution. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, diverse environment, brings sound strategic judgement, and is passionate about making an impact. What you’ll do

  • Shape and deliver the E&A region’s communications strategy—spanning reputation, leadership profiling, digital, engagement, and change.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, People, Communications, marketing/PR, and agencies to run impactful campaigns, including change initiatives.
  • Advise the Regional CEO and Leadership Team, and lead executive communications.
  • Manage M&A and integration communications.
  • Oversee all regional channels and develop compelling content.
  • Partner with People & Communications to drive colleague engagement.
  • Be a brand ambassador, ensuring all communications align with Inchcape’s voice and identity.
  • Safeguard and grow Inchcape’s reputation through proactive and crisis-ready communications.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be

  • Confident advising C-suite leaders on communications and issues management in a complex, multi-country environment—focusing on what matters most.
  • Experienced in leading corporate PR and communications campaigns, including managing agencies and protecting reputations during times of change.
  • Comfortable working across diverse international markets and bring experience in M&A communications.
  • Familiar with global or publicly listed businesses, and some knowledge of investor relations or financial PR would be a plus.
  • Skilled in using digital channels as a core part of your strategy, creating content that’s clear, compelling, and engaging.
  • An excellent communicator in English, with another E&A language being a welcome bonus.
