We need a Mild Steel MIG welder for a leading manufacturer of diesel fuel storage tanks and fuel management systems. The job will be based at Springhill Industrial Estate, Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire.
Working Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Overtime is after 40 hours, at 1.5 times the regular rate. Based on contracts secured, but anywhere between 5 and 15 hrs per week.
- Salary: £16.00–£18.00 per hour (£33,280–£37,440 basic salary)
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half (£24.00–£27.00 per hour)
- Approximate Annual Earnings:
- £39,500–£44,500 based on 5 hours overtime per week
- £45,700–£51,500 based on 10 hours overtime per week
- £52,000–£58,500 based on 15 hours overtime per week
Please note that overtime is not guaranteed and is subject to workload, customer demand and contracts secured.
Requirements:
- You should have experience with MIG welding; (TIG is a bonus but not a must have)
- The successful candidate’s key skills will include:
- MIG welding up to 8mm plate, occasionally 20mm to produce fabricated oil tanks and associated products.
- TIG welding an advantage.
- Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and quality.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and cut lists.
- Produce/maintain a level of output that will maximise production.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Use of overhead gantry crane and forklift – full training given to right candidate.
- Ability to operate various tools.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
