We are recruiting for a Production Manager for an Aerospace manufacturer, offering a 4-day working week and a salary of up to Β£45k dependent on experience.
You must have experience in shop floor management and be able to motivate and train our shop floor team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced aerospace engineer who has set and run machinery including sliding and fixed head CNC machines with Fanuc controls, lathes, and drilling/tapping. You must be able to coordinate workload and job running, updating the load list and production working order.
Role Duties:
- Plan and delegate priorities on a daily basis as appropriate.
- Manage sickness absence and attendance including authorising holiday requests and arranging any additional cover.
- Ensure team members have sufficient training to fulfil their roles, to cover absent team members and manage flexible working demands.
- Adhere to all documented Quality Procedures.
- Set and run machinery safely (inclusive of sliding and fixed head CNC machines, with Fanuc controls, lathes, drilling/tapping).
- Carry out first-off and job run inspection of machined parts.
- Co-ordinate and report on monthly production KPIs.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure all parts are manufactured in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and action any machine maintenance.
- Accountable for Tooling Reps and ensure the shop floor is well-equipped and supports necessary tooling sales and orders.
- Ensure all KPI targets are met in order to achieve profitability (On Time Deliveries, Arrears Management & Quality targets).
- Comply with UFC's mission, values, quality systems and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a positive and inspiring working environment.
- Take an active part in interviewing and assessing new team members.
- Keep the General Manager informed and updated regularly, especially if any critical problems arise.
- Identify and offer suggestions to improve efficiencies within production.
- Raise concerns regarding undesirable conditions within the organisation and propose potential solutions for improvement.
- Assist the Factory Management team with reasonable ad-hoc requests.
