An excellent opportunity for a skilled centreless grinder to join a leading aerospace manufacturer in Rochford, Essex, offering a 4-day working week. The role involves working for a specialist manufacturer of high precision metallic and PTFE machine components for the global Aerospace sector.
Reporting Line: Reporting into the Production Manager.
Role Overview: The candidate must have experience in engineering, ideally in the aerospace sector, and will be required to set and run a variety of grinding machines, inclusive of 2nd operation machine tools, while adhering to health and safety legislation. The candidate will endeavour to reduce waste and improve productivity, in line with a zero defect philosophy, through increased effectiveness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and run centreless grinders, with experience running Wickman Scrivener, Ghiringhelli Grinder, Cincinnati or Tschadun Grinder (essential)
- Experience operating Myford Grinder (desirable)
- Support 2nd Operations machines safely as required, including thread-rolling (desirable), part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburrers (manual/rotary etc).
- Carry out first-off and job run inspections.
