Teacher with SENCo

The Governors and Headteacher of Ince CE Primary and Nursery School are seeking to appoint a new SENCO to continue our excellent SEND provision who embodies the Christian vision and values of our school.

Ince CE Primary and Nursery School is a large two form entry primary school in the heart of Ince. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, innovative professional who has high expectations of themselves, colleagues and pupils, and has the energy and determination to make a difference. They must be a qualified teacher and will be part of the senior leadership team.

• Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with staff, pupils, parents and governors.
• Must hold the SENCo qualification.

Key responsibilities include:

• The SENCO, under the direction of the Headteacher, will determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school.
• Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and carers, and other agencies.
• Maintain an accurate SEND register and provision map.
• Be accountable for progress and standards according to current SIP priorities.
• The SENCO will be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD.
