One of the UK's fastest-growing satellite connectivity providers, and one of a very small number of companies authorised to resell both Starlink and Amazon Leo, alongside OneWeb.
Founded in 2014, the business has grown entirely organically with no external investment or venture capital. Now with offices across the UK plus operations in the US, Ireland, Australia and Brazil, and continuing to scale rapidly.
They deliver managed satellite, wireless and network solutions into some of the world's most demanding environments, spanning maritime, construction, energy, healthcare, transport and broadcast media. Clients range from public sector organisations to global broadcasters.
About the role
I'm recruiting an HR Manager to own the people function across the business, working closely with department heads and senior leadership as the company continues to scale.
This is a genuine generalist role covering the full employee lifecycle. Day-to-day, you'll be involved in:
- People support, onboarding and induction
- HR Policy development and maintenance, keeping the business compliant and up to date as it grows
- Employee engagement, retention and culture initiatives
- Compensation, benefits and HR systems administration
- Training and development planning
- Supporting managers with day to day people questions and coaching
Alongside this, you'll be the person the business relies on for the harder end of HR, including:
- Disciplinaries and grievances, managed from start to resolution
- Personal disputes and culture issues, including conflict between colleagues
- Performance improvement plans, from setup through to outcome
- Terminations, handled correctly, fairly and with appropriate documentation
This isn't a role that exists purely to manage difficult situations. It's a chance to build a people function properly, with the credibility and trust to also handle its most sensitive moments well.
About you
- A well-rounded HR generalist, equally comfortable with proactive people initiatives and reactive casework
- Proven experience managing disciplinaries and grievances through to resolution, independently
- Able to balance empathy with commercial and legal considerations appropriately
- Naturally discreet, with sound judgement around sensitive information
- Calm and composed when situations are tense or emotionally charged
- Confident advising and, where necessary, challenging senior leadership
- Comfortable operating independently within a lean HR function
Requirements
- Solid HR generalist background, covering the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit
- Significant hands-on experience of disciplinaries, grievances and terminations
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
- Experience managing performance improvement plans through to resolution
- Comfortable handling sensitive interpersonal and culture issues within teams
- Excellent judgement, discretion and communication skills
- Confident working independently, with minimal oversight
Preferred
- CIPD qualification, or equivalent
- Experience within a fast growing or scale up business
- Experience supporting a business operating across multiple countries or jurisdictions
What's on offer
On top of a market led compensation package, the opportunity to build and shape a people function from the ground up within a fast growing, owner led business at the forefront of the satellite connectivity boom, with genuine autonomy and influence across every part of the employee lifecycle.
