Are you a seasoned Senior Engineer with strong expertise in Go and AWS, and someone who genuinely lives and breathes AI driven engineering? Not just curious about it, but actively using it to work smarter, faster and cleaner every day? This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, scaling tech business that's always reinventing how it builds and ships technology, and one that has gone all in on AI across everything it does.
The Opportunity
We've partnered with our client for a couple of years now and placed some brilliant people there. They're a technology business formed through the merger of two GRC organisations, one a SaaS business through and through, the other a specialist in communications and data capture. Together they help regulated businesses capture, archive and monitor their digital communications so they stay compliant as regulation keeps shifting.
They've moved their engineering away from the traditional model into product engineering: hands on engineers with a strong product mindset, writing code day in, day out and delivering to real product outcomes. AI is embedded in every workflow, every team and every layer of the organisation, from the back office right through to how code gets planned, written and shipped.
You’ll be joining a newly formed team working on an industry leading product right from the ground up. This role blends hands-on coding, R&D of new technologies and solving complex technical problems, while collaborating across disciplines to deliver secure, scalable and reliable software. You'll bring a genuine product mindset too, understanding the product landscape and working as part of a collective team rather than in isolation, always thinking about how engineering decisions serve the wider product.
What You’ll Do
- Lead by example through coding, design and problem solving, setting the bar for
- technical excellence.
- Take ownership across the stack: backend (Go) and AWS infrastructure, with React and Remix on the front end where it's needed.
- Actively adopt and champion AI driven engineering every day, including agentic workflows, AgentKit, Claude and similar tools, to optimise how you and the team plan, build and ship code.
- Spot and roll out AI powered workflow improvements that lead to cleaner code, faster iteration and better outcomes across the team.
- Contribute to and lead technical design, bringing fresh ideas and critically evaluating them before they're built.
- Drive automation and scripting across MacOS and Linux using Bash and AppleScript.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Mentor colleagues through code reviews, pair programming and open collaboration, including sharing AI assisted engineering practices.
- Partner with product and design teams to align technical solutions with business goals. Ensure security best practices are embedded throughout.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong commercial experience with Go and AWS at a senior or lead level. Real, hands-on experience embedding AI into your daily engineering workflow. Not just an interest in AI, but a track record of actively using agentic tools and AI assisted processes to improve how you work.
- A product focused mindset, with an understanding of the product landscape and a collaborative, team first approach to engineering.
- A generalist mindset, comfortable moving across technologies and frameworks.
- Excitement for working in an early stage product environment where you can help shape architecture and ways of working.
- React and React Native experience is a big plus but not essential.
- A passion for problem solving and tackling challenges that don't have straightforward answers.
