Contract Android Engineer (Kotlin) – Outside IR35

Location: Leeds / Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)

Day Rate: £400 to £450 per day

Contract Length: Initial 2-month contract (very strong likelihood of long-term extension)

Must Be Eligible for Security Clearance in the UK

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing technology consultancy supporting a key client on a mobile product initiative. They’re looking for an experienced Android Engineer (Kotlin) to join the team on an initial 2-month engagement, with a very strong likelihood of extension into a longer-term piece of work. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, working within a collaborative, client-facing environment to build and enhance a modern Android application.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and enhancing Android applications using Kotlin
  • Working closely with client stakeholders, product, and design teams
  • Writing clean, scalable, and well-tested code
  • Contributing to technical discussions and architectural decisions
  • Supporting delivery within a fast-paced consultancy environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building Android applications in Kotlin
  • Solid understanding of modern Android architecture (MVVM / Clean Architecture)
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Comfortable working in client-facing environments
  • Ability to deliver effectively within short-term, high-impact engagements
