Digital Workplace & AI Manager

Location : UK-based, hybrid remote

Industry : Fintech / Regulated environment

Salary : Competitive + benefits (details on request)

We’re hiring on behalf of a fast moving fintech client at the start of a bold new journey one where AI, automation, and next-generation workplace tools will transform the way their people work every day.

They’re now looking for a Digital Workplace & AI Manager to help design and deliver that transformation from first principles. This is an opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up.

Why This Role, Why Now?

Our client is launching a company wide initiative to modernise their internal digital environment. In its early days the strategy, tooling, and delivery approach are all being shaped and they need someone who can not only lead the thinking but roll up their sleeves and bring it to life.

You’ll be the first dedicated hire for this area, reporting into senior technology leadership. You’ll work cross-functionally with teams across Engineering, Ops, Product, HR and Compliance to define the roadmap, select tools, and drive adoption all while keeping the employee experience at the centre.

This is a rare opportunity to define a vision and own the execution end to end.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define the digital workplace strategy from scratch — including tooling, governance, and culture.
  • Identify where AI and automation can unlock value across internal processes and workflows.
  • Build and lead a phased rollout plan that balances quick wins with long-term vision.
  • Establish key success metrics and report on adoption, usage, and productivity impact.

Tooling & Implementation

  • Research, evaluate, and implement tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Atlassian Intelligence, GitHub Copilot, and internal AI/automation platforms.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to prototype lightweight internal AI use cases (e.g. document assistants, knowledge bases, workflow bots).
  • Introduce low-code/no-code automation using platforms like Power Automate or Zapier where appropriate.

Change & Enablement

  • Create tailored onboarding and enablement campaigns to help teams embrace new tooling.
  • Establish champions, feedback loops, and internal comms to drive adoption and mindset shift.
  • Collaborate with HR and L&D to embed AI fluency and digital skills into learning journeys.

Governance & Risk

  • Partner with InfoSec and Compliance to define safe, secure, and compliant usage patterns for AI and automation tooling.
  • Set the standards for responsible experimentation and scale.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience

  • 5+ years in roles in and around Digital Transformations, Data & AI, or Product/Technology Leadership.
  • Familiarity with enterprise workplace platforms such as Microsoft 365, Atlassian, Slack, or Confluence.
  • Hands-on understanding of AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Atlassian Intelligence, GitHub Copilot, etc) and automation concepts.
  • Confident in managing change and enabling adoption across diverse business and tech teams.
  • Basic comfort with scripting/automation concepts (e.g. Power Automate, APIs, Python, PowerShell).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and training design skills.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience in a regulated environment (fintech, financial services, etc).
  • Exposure to agile ways of working and product-led organisations.
  • History of launching internal innovation or capability-building initiatives.

The Kind of Person Who’ll Thrive Here

  • Visionary, but grounded – you see what’s possible, but you also know how to make it real.
  • Empathetic change agent – you get that transformation is about people, not just platforms.
  • Naturally curious – you experiment, explore, and learn by doing.
  • Strategic & outcome-focused – you align tooling and change with real business impact.

What You’ll Get

  • A rare chance to build a digital workplace transformation capability from the ground up.
  • Autonomy to shape tooling, strategy, and culture in partnership with progressive tech leadership.
  • Exposure to the full business from C-suite to frontline with a chance to drive change at scale.
  • A hybrid-first culture based around a Manchester HQ, with real flexibility baked in.

If you want to play a defining role in how a company works, collaborates, and grows in the age of AI this is it.
