Build, lead, and grow a high-impact technology consulting business. We’re working with a high-quality, people-first technology consultancy that is launching its London presence and is looking for a founding General Manager to lead the charge. This is a rare opportunity for a senior consulting leader to build a London office from the ground up, with full ownership across clients, people, culture, and commercial performance, while being supported by an established leadership team and broader organisation.
The Opportunity: This role sits at the intersection of delivery leadership, business growth, and people leadership. You’ll bring credibility from a core discipline (engineering, delivery, architecture, or business analysis) and use that as a foundation to build trusted client relationships, grow a consulting team, and establish a strong market presence. You’ll operate with significant autonomy, shaping how the London business grows, from first hires to first major clients, while aligning with a wider UK and global strategy.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Client & Delivery Leadership
- Remaining close to delivery in your area of expertise, setting the bar for quality
- Owning senior client relationships and acting as a trusted partner
- Ensuring delivery excellence, healthy engagements, and strong governance
- Translating client challenges into pragmatic, high-value solutions
- Building the London Team & Culture
- Hiring and leading the initial London consulting team
- Creating clear career paths, development frameworks, and role definitions
- Establishing a workplace culture people want to be part of
- Providing mentorship, support, and visible leadership
- Growing the Business
- Owning the London P&L and growth strategy
- Winning new client relationships through networks, events, and market presence
- Expanding existing accounts and shaping long-term partnerships
- Acting as a senior ambassador for the business in the UK market
- Commercial & Operational Ownership
- Putting in place sensible governance, delivery rhythm, and commercial discipline
- Overseeing contracts, renewals, forecasting, and operational processes
- Balancing autonomy with alignment to the wider organisation
- Contributing to broader company strategy while executing locally
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years in technology consulting or a closely related field
- Proven experience building or scaling a practice, team, or regional business
- Demonstrable success winning new clients and growing revenue
- Strong people leadership and hiring experience
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure as you scale
- Gravitas with senior stakeholders and C-suite clients
- Deep understanding of the London / UK consulting market
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Founding leadership role with real autonomy
- Chance to shape culture, standards, and growth from day one
- Backed by an established consultancy with strong values
- Opportunity to build something meaningful, not just manage it
