Job Title: Application Engineer – Crane & Industrial
Location: Exeter, PA; Hanover Township, PA; or Remote within the Appropriate Region
Travel: Approximately 40% throughout North America
Duration: Full-time (Direct Hire)
Position Summary:
Bekaert is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical support for its Crane and Industrial business. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wire ropes, cranes, heavy equipment, or industrial field service, along with strong customer communication and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support, troubleshoot equipment issues, and conduct customer site visits.

Inspect wire ropes, sheaves, drums, and related crane and heavy-equipment systems.

Investigate quality claims and perform root-cause analysis.

Support product trials, rope-design improvements, and Ropes 360 services.

Recommend technical solutions and help promote Bridon wire-rope products.

Deliver customer training and prepare technical reports.

Collaborate with engineering, sales, and quality teams.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Approximately 7+ years of experience in wire-rope applications, heavy-equipment maintenance, or technical field service.

Experience with cranes, draglines, rope shovels, drilling rigs, or similar equipment.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical reporting skills.

Willingness to travel approximately 40% throughout North America.
Preferred Experience:

Steel wire-rope inspection and maintenance.

Knowledge of OSHA 1926.1413, ISO 4309, or ASME B30 standards.

Experience with non-destructive testing, lifting and rigging, mining, or industrial manufacturing.
