About The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Tutor – Lean Manufacturing Operative (Level 2) to deliver high-quality training and support to apprentices. This role involves delivering one on-site training day per month in Chesterfield, alongside providing remote 1:1 coaching and learner support between sessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in guiding apprentices through their learning journey, ensuring they are fully prepared for Gateway and End-Point Assessment. This is a flexible, associate-based opportunity ideal for professionals with current or recent industry experience in manufacturing and Lean environments. Compensation will be competitive within the industry and tailored to the candidate’s skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions to Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprentices
  • Provide remote 1:1 coaching and pastoral support to learners between training sessions
  • Support learners in building their portfolios and tracking progress using OneFile
  • Prepare and guide apprentices through Gateway and End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Assess learner work in line with the Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing standards
  • Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure timely achievement
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality learner experience

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Solid occupational experience within manufacturing and/or Lean environments
  • Confidence in delivering training, coaching, or mentoring adult learners
  • Experience supporting apprentices through Gateway and End-Point Assessment
  • Strong understanding of the Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (or equivalent)
  • Competent in using OneFile for portfolio management and learner tracking
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Passionate about learner development and supporting career progression

Desirable

  • Previous experience working as a tutor, assessor, or trainer
  • Teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. AET, CAVA)
  • Experience working within apprenticeship delivery

This is a part time, flexible, role with a blend of on‑site delivery in Chesterfield and remote support.
