Senior Research Analyst
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead comprehensive research and analysis on a broad range of socio-political, security, economic, and environmental topics, primarily focused on the Middle East, with potential expansion to other regions and thematic areas as required.
- Ensure research and analysis products consistently meet high professional standards, providing feedback and mentoring junior and mid-level team members.
- Prepare and deliver clear, insightful, and professionally presented verbal and written briefings, in person or virtually, to clients, senior company management, and external stakeholders.
- Create, refine, and maintain a suite of analytical products and field research outputs, and actively contribute to improving qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Coordinate and build strong relationships with colleagues across other divisions and departments, promoting effective communication and transparency in processes.
- Proactively support corporate business development by fostering relationships with new clients and partners, participating in networking events, and assisting with outreach activities.
- Support the testing and implementation of innovative tools, technologies, and AI-driven solutions to enhance research efficiency and analytical quality.
- Oversee and delegate tasks to junior analysts, manage their workload, and provide constructive feedback to ensure professional development.
- Contribute to promoting IN2’s capabilities by drafting communications materials, ad-hoc reports, and related documentation.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by senior division or department management, in coordination with the line manager.
Qualifications
- 4-6 of experience conducting and leading research and analysis on socio-political, security, or economic topics, with particular focus on the Middle East.
Experience living in the region strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality qualitative and quantitative analytical products.
- Proven experience leading research teams, mentoring or supervising junior and mid-level analysts.
- Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong ability to synthesise complex information clearly and concisely.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English. Experience and expertise in relevant regional languages strongly preferred.
- Proven interpersonal skills, able to effectively engage and coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- High levels of professionalism and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Flexibility and adaptability, able to adjust research priorities as required by evolving project needs.
- Proactive approach to workload management, prioritising tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with or willingness to adopt new tools, technologies, and analytical methods to enhance research outputs.
