Working Hours
We operate a 37.5‑hour working week designed to support work‑life balance. We offer flexible start and finish times between 8am and 6pm, provided that core hours of 10am to 4pm are covered for team collaboration and meetings.
About The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will bring strong technical expertise in MEP installations, design engineering, mentoring, project management, site inspections, and client relations. You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality mechanical design solutions across diverse sectors including commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational, and residential projects.

- Lead mechanical design on projects from concept to delivery
- Collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure high‑quality engineering solutions are developed and implemented

- Manage project costs and prepare client cost reports related to mechanical installations
- Implement successful mechanical design solutions and develop engineering strategies aligned with client briefs
- Work alongside Project Directors to establish project requirements and deliverables
- Attend site meetings, carry out inspections, and review contractors’ technical submittals
- Prepare detailed site reports, project status updates, and verify installations against agreed designs
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and ensure knowledge dissemination
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians for fully coordinated designs
- Develop BCAR Inspection plans and monitor installation quality and project progress
- Represent the company at site and technical meetings
Essential Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ consultancy‑based design experience on commercial MEP projects
- Level 8 Degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering (recognised for Chartership)
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering standards, building regulations, and HVAC, water services, and drainage design
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (Hevacomp, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)
- Experience designing commercial mechanical projects and working within design teams
- Strong report writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Chartered Engineer status or ability to demonstrate competencies to apply within 18 months
