Salary: Salary range £70,000 – £80,000 per annum, plus commission

Location: London | On‐Site

Working Hours: We operate a 37.5‐hour working week designed to support work‐life balance. We offer flexible start and finish times between 8am and 6pm, provided that core hours of 10am to 4pm are covered for team collaboration and meetings.

About The Role

As our Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind IN2's growth across the London market. This is a senior, outward‐facing position within our London leadership team, where you will work closely with Directors and Associates to position IN2 as a leader in building performance, sustainability, and MEP design. We are looking for a confident communicator and a natural connector—someone who thrives on building long‐term partnerships, understanding client needs, and leading work‐winning strategies that align with our vision for a sustainable built environment.

What you will do:

  • Market Position & Growth
    • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement business development strategies that align with IN2 London's five‐year growth plan.
    • Sector Expansion: Identify new opportunities across our core markets including Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, and Education while breaking into high‐growth sectors like Data Centres and Life Sciences.
    • Strategic Positioning: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and client drivers to ensure IN2 remains a market leader.
  • Client Relationship Development
    • Nurture Partnerships: Build and maintain strong, long‐term relationships with developers, architects, contractors, and project managers.
    • Client Retention: Support existing client accounts to ensure continued satisfaction, securing repeat business and referrals.
    • Client Care: Coordinate formal follow‐up processes and client care initiatives across live projects and key accounts.
  • Networking & Industry Engagement
    • Active Presence: Maintain high visibility across industry networks, professional bodies, and trade associations.
    • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent IN2 as a trusted industry voice at conferences, networking events, and client functions.
  • Bidding, Tendering & Work Winning
    • Bid Strategy: Lead the pursuit of new projects, collaborating with technical leads and the dedicated bid team to win work.
    • Compelling Proposals: Help craft high‐quality bid submissions, presentations, and proposals that clearly communicate our values and expertise.
    • Pipeline Management: Support the tracking of tender pipelines, frameworks, and pre‐qualification opportunities.
    • Success Rates: Contribute to win strategies to consistently improve our overall conversion rates.
  • Internal Collaboration & Brand Building
    • Leadership Alignment: Work closely with Directors and Associates to ensure BD activities reflect IN2's broader strategic goals.
    • Marketing Synergy: Partner with the Marketing team on targeted campaigns, events, and thought leadership to boost brand awareness.
    • Content Contribution: Help develop external content, including social media, technical articles, and award submissions.
    • System Development: Support the optimization of internal CRM tools and BD tracking mechanisms.

Your Experience

  • Essential
    • Industry Tenure: Minimum 10 years' experience within the built environment (Consultancy, Contractor, or Supplier).
    • Proven Track Record: Solid experience in business development, work‐winning, or high‐level client management.
    • Market Expertise: An expert understanding of the London property and construction market, including key players, landmark projects, and current legislation.
    • Professional Network: A well‐established network of developers, architects, and contractors across the UK.
    • Communication Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.
    • Commercial Acumen: A proactive, strategic thinker with experience contributing to fee proposals and growth planning.
  • Desirable
    • Technical Background: Experience or training in MEP, energy, or sustainability design.
    • Consultancy Experience: Prior experience in a professional design services or multi‐disciplinary environment.
    • Professional Affiliations: Membership of relevant industry bodies such as CIBSE, BCO, or UKGBC.
