Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

Overview

We are looking for a qualified, detail-driven Management Accountant to play a key role in delivering timely and accurate reporting, insightful analysis and strong business partnering across the organisation.

This role will support operational and commercial teams, providing clear financial visibility, driving performance and contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow analysis.
• Produce variance analysis and detailed commentary on financial performance vs budget/forecast.
• Support the development and improvement of month-end processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and commercial teams.
• Provide financial insight, guidance and challenge to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis on margins, cost control, overhead trends, and profitability.
• Support preparation of board and senior management reporting packs.

Skills & Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
• Proven experience in a management accounting role with month-end ownership.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and BI tools is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to challenge constructively.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a drive to enhance systems and processes.
